Elly Nott


Elly is responsible for setting the strategy and direction of the Foundation together with the Trustees. She also has responsibility for operations, fundraising, financing, marketing and building networks of supporters and friends.

Elly believes passionately in public service and after graduating from the University of Oxford worked for a small social enterprise in South East London. Her role was to recruit, train and match volunteer befrienders with isolated, elderly people in the London borough of Southwark.

Between 2010 and 2014 Elly worked for the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) in London and Bahrain. As Research Associate, IISS-Middle East, she coordinated, drove forward and managed every aspect the of the IISS’ Geo-economics and Strategy research programme.

She conceived, planned and executed international seminars and workshops and managed relations with various internal and external stakeholders in the programme. She also conducted research on current economic and geo-political issues and contributed on geo-economic and energy security themes to the IISS’ flagship publications; Strategic Survey and the Military Balance.

Elly has also worked in public relations and politics. She has BA in Modern History from St Hilda’s College, Oxford, and a Masters in International Relations from Exeter University.
