Dr Ammar Darwish
Medical Director
Ammar is a General and Trauma Surgeon at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. He has extensive medical humanitarian field experience and trauma surgical training in conflict zones, having been deployed on over 45 global humanitarian missions over the last 15 years. He is passionate about saving victims of conflict and natural disaster by better equipping the and training doctors who care for them.
Ammar proudly serves as the Medical Director and Global Faculty Lead at the David Nott Foundation (DNF). Having joined DNF since it was established in 2015, he has had the privilege of being deployed on multiple humanitarian missions with Professor David Nott to war zones since 2012, including Syria, Iraq, the Yemen, Ukraine, West Bank and Gaza.
Ammar was also a trainer on the STAE (Surgical Training in the Austere Environment) course at the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
