Lucy Lyon

Head of Communications

From a young age, Lucy imagined packing a bag and exploring the other side of the hill from her home village in rural Scotland. That dream was realised as Lucy has lived and worked as a film maker, photographer and journalist in countries including Afghanistan, the African Sahel, Jordan, Israel and Palestine.

After reading modern languages at Edinburgh University, Lucy completed the City University Periodical Journalism post graduate course and worked in print journalism, documentaries, and the humanitarian sector for over twenty years.

Her films include a feature documentary about opium and heroin use in Afghan communities, and human-interest films for organisations including UNICEF, UNRWA, Save the Children, the HALO Trust and the St John Eye Hospital in Jerusalem.

‘I firmly believe that everybody has a story, and I am deeply committed to amplifying the story of the David Nott Foundation through those of all the people involved.’

After meeting Elly and David, Lucy has contributed to much of the film and photography for the foundation, starting with a memorable trip to Somaliland with Elly in 2022.

Lucy lives in London with her husband and three children, a dog, and a guinea pig.
