Dr Pippa Letchworth

Faculty Lead for Obstetrics and Gynaecology

Dr Pippa Letchworth stands as a distinguished consultant in obstetrics and gynaecology at Imperial College NHS Trust, where her commitment extends beyond clinical practice, with specialisation in global maternal health, education and simulation.

Pippa has worked with Médecins Sans Frontières, volunteering her skills in challenging environments in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Pakistan, Sierra Leone and northern Nigeria. Currently, she holds the position of Obstetrics Faculty Lead at the foundation.

Her academic accomplishments include a fellowship in education, global health, and obstetric fistula and the creation of educational videos for other practicing clinicians. Before assuming her role as consultant, Pippa undertook a mission to address maternal mortality in the north of Nigeria, an area grappling with some of the highest rates worldwide.

Since 2012, her collaboration with the David Nott Foundation has been instrumental, notably in delivering the STAE course. She has further extended her influence through HEST courses in diverse locations, including Kenya, Yemen, Borneo and the UK.
