Trustee

Simon Armitage

Simon is an experienced lawyer, with over 12 years of experience both as a private practice and in house lawyer. He has been a Trustee of the Foundation since [July 2017 – I confess I can’t find the exact timing?].

Simon now specialises in the media sector and is the VP, Head of Legal & Business Affairs for Central Europe, Middle East and Africa for BBC Studios. He deals with all aspects of commercial distribution of BBC content across those regions, as well as related global deals, M&A and joint ventures.

In previous roles Simon has dealt with a wide range of businesses and industry sectors, from technology start-ups to global mining companies.

Outside of work, Simon is a huge fan of jazz music, a (very much beginner level) guitar player, keen cyclist and devotee of Tottenham Hotspur FC.
