Scholarships
To enhance our support for medical professionals working tirelessly in war and catastrophe, we don’t just deliver surgical training. We fund scholarships for doctors, surgeons or nurses who wish to take on additional training or education.
In our commitment to Ukraine as the war continues, we funded two Ukrainian surgeons to complete advanced paediatric trauma surgery training in the UK. We also funded two years of a Syrian doctor’s PhD degree, investigating how to effectively evacuate patients and their families from hospitals during conflict.
Betty Boothroyd Fund
If you are a medical professional living or working in a country impacted by conflict or catastrophe and you seek funding to enhance your skills or medical career, you may be eligible for our Betty Boothroyd Fund. Contact us to find out more about how to apply.
“As Ukrainians, we extend our deepest thanks to the entire Foundation. Our training will equip us with the skills needed to be more effective. Without their (funding) support, we would undoubtedly be prone to making mistakes.”
